We mentor motivated students in grades 6–12 to design an original research project, take it to local, state, national, and international science fairs, and build a portfolio for college applications.

Get started in three steps

Step One

Submit an application

Students in grades 6–12, from anywhere, are welcome to apply. All that is asked is motivation and commitment. No experience is required.

Step Two

Attend the kickoff meeting

Once accepted and enrolled, your student meets the Program Director to talk through their research interests and the program, and to settle on a topic for a project of their own.

Step Three

Work with a mentor

From there your student works with their mentor online, session by session, through the strategies and checkpoints that carry the project to completion.

No experience required.

Many Ardent Scholars begin with us on their first research project. Our research mentors teach students a structured methodology and guide them through each stage of developing and completing their own project.

Some students return for increasingly advanced projects, while others use what they have learned to pursue research independently, in university labs, or through selective summer programs.

The goal is not simply to finish one project. It is to build the foundation for the research that comes next.

Bradley built a two-phase system that grades coral bleaching across five levels of severity and forecasts reef health twelve weeks out, using free computational tools.
